RISE RADIO – Christian Perspective on Social Narratives
A Warning About Deliverance Ministries (Mysticism in the Church)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Tonight we speak to Steve Montgomery, author of popular book, The Converging Apostasy.
In this discussion we talk about the New Apostolic Reformation and its heavy focus on what it terms ‘deliverance’.
The movement, popularised by figures like Derek Prince and William Branham, teaches that Christian’s can have a “dual spirit” and need to be exorcised of demonic spirits to find freedom.
Listen to this episode for an insight into the history of these ideas, where they came from, and whether they are Biblical.
FOOTNOTE: This episode is not from a full ‘cessationist’ point of view, or against any Biblical, Scriptural, view of the work of Gods Spirit in the lives of believers, it’s a warning about the NAR version of these concepts.
